SS 304 refers to a grade of stainless steel that is widely used in various industries due to its excellent corrosion resistance, durability, and versatility. However, the term "Nominal Finish" is not a standard finish specification for stainless steel.

Stainless steel finishes are typically designated by a numbering system called the "No.," or "Number," system. These numbers range from 1 to 10 and indicate different surface finishes, with 1 being the roughest and 10 being the smoothest. Each number corresponds to a specific finish specification. For example, a No. 4 finish is a common intermediate polished finish with a brushed appearance, while a No. 8 finish is a highly reflective mirror-like finish.
